Keds + Kate Spade = shoe love.

I’m a little late to the game on this one, but this obsession is just too good not to share. Better late than never, right?
Last month, Keds collaborated with Kate Spade to release a limited edition collection of sneakers. In true Kate Spade fashion, they are colorful and feminine, charming and fun. The Kick style is available in a springy blue gingham with orange accents and a classic black polka dot with pink accents. And the feminine Pointer style comes in a navy stripe and a solid neon pink. Who doesn’t need pointy neon pink sneakers?? Especially when they are lined with polka dots! It’s like everything good combined into one perfect little shoe.
So here’s where you’ll hate me. They are sold out on the Keds site. UDPATE: Kate Spade and Nordstrom have them in stock! They are also on order at Piperlime and Bloomingdales. The backorder status makes me hopeful that other stores will be getting more in stock or releasing new styles. (The preview last fall featured eight styles, so I hope we’ll see them soon!)
On Cloud Nine with Kate Spade bedding (and bath) collections.

So I’ve had “Kate Spade bath” on my blog post to-do list for months. Then I got an email introducing their bedding collection and meant to post about that before I left on vacation. Obviously neither happened, so again I’m playing catch up and combining them into one post! As you know, I’m a huge fan of Kate Spade EVERYTHING, and a home collection is no exception. Like they said in their email, you can dress up your bed with their mix-and-matchable duvets, sheets, shams and spreads. FUN!
There are three major collections, and you can combine pieces from each to create your own unique (and girly) look. Now I just need three bedrooms to decorate! Actually, my guest bedroom is still a random combination of all our old crap that is just used to fill the space, so maybe it’s time to rethink the decor. I love the styling of the rooms with pops of pinks and oranges (I NEED that pink rug), as well as the strategically placed Kate Spade handbags and shoes. Who says fashion accessories can’t be home accessories??
Happy Skinnygirl margarita day! And girly week in review.

Cinco de Mayo is not exactly a waist-friendly holiday (already dreaming of melted cheese and chips), but that’s why we love Skinnygirl cocktails. So we’ll be celebrating with a few margaritas and lots of guac, all while wearing girly sombreros. (Ok, I don’t actually own that hat, but I’m on a hat kick lately and it was too cute not to share!)
We hope everyone has a fab weekend and a festive Cinco de Mayo! Here is some of the girly stuff we found this week:
Entertainment Weekly’s list of 30 summer movies they can’t wait to see
I love these gorgeous elopement photos from Florence, Italy
Yummy recipe for Cinnamon Sugar Messy Bread
Beautiful photos of St. John on From Me to You. Dreaming of the beach…
Jessica Simpson finally had her baby: Maxwell Drew. Congrats!
Kinda loving the photo in Selena Gomez’s perfume ad
Sweet Reads from Bakerella
And in case you missed anything on GirlyObsessions this week, here’s a recap:

Obsession collection: Spring fedoras.
Faux glow.
The kind of Revenge I like: Joshua Bowman.
The 50 Shades book signing. And boa carnage.
Celebrating Moms.
Celebrating Moms.

Mother’s Day will be here before you know it. As in 8 days from now. And what do you get for the woman who brought you into this world (only to have to put up with major attitude) to show her how much you love her? I thought we could share a few ideas! Oh, and Mom, if you’re reading this, don’t worry, your gift is not on this list!
Something to read
A Kindle (or Nook) e-reader. Preferably pre-loaded with the 50 Shades trilogy. After all, it is labeled “mommy porn.” (Sorry Sara, I know you hate that term!) Or for a more traditional option, the Paris in Color coffee table book is sweet, simple and beautiful.
Obsession Collection: Structured crossbody handbags.

I know it’s Wednesday and this is not a hottie post. But we had some early Eye Candy on Monday, so we’re saving our other hottie for later in the week. And I don’t know about you, but handbags have almost the same effect on me as a hot guy, so I hope this substitution is acceptable! Crossbody handbags have made a major comeback lately, from minis to messenger style, and striped canvas to neon patent. I usually go for hobo style bags, but there is something appealing about these structured, classic styles (especially the satchels that look like girly camera bags).
Oh, and be sure to check out our past Obsession Collections!

Obsession Collection: Colorful spring scarves.

It’s time to trade those heavy winter scarves for some more colorful, lightweight options. A scarf is both decorative and functional (can protect you from harsh sun or an aggressive A/C), and is a great way to add a pop of color to any outfit! I was inspired to pull this collection together by option #5, which I spotted (and then rushed to) in Lord & Taylor. Of course, I’m drawn to anything neon. And pink. But now that I’ve put this collection together, I’m torn between options 5 and 6. And 8 and 4. I have issues…
Oh, and be sure to check out our other Obsession Collections!
1. American Eagle Striped Scarf $19.50
2. American Eagle Ikat Loop Scarf $19.50

Glitter makes us giddy!

Sara: Okay, I know you’ve found a couple sparkly things lately and I think we need to discuss and share them. I am obsessed with gold glitter and sparkles. Whatever twinkles! I am not usually a fan of the color gold, but something about the season and winter coming makes me change my mind. I am totally swooning my Sephora Only Gold For Me glittery polish! Its an amazing little bottle. It looks great with a few coats on its on, or layered on top of a color for an added “oh helllloo” factor! What have you been finding??
‘Tis the season for: Cards.

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, but now that that’s out of the way, it’s officially time to move on the next holiday: Christmas. (Or Hanukkah, or Christmukkah, or Kwankzaa, or whatever you may celebrate…it’s time to move on to that.) This will be the first of many holiday related posts, and as you can see, it’s dedicated to cards.
Being a designer, (or just being me) I tend to be obsessed with all things paper, especially well designed paper in the form of a card. Even though I haven’t sent cards in years (I blame my hectic life, but it’s probably just laziness), I still love to look, and occasionally buy, even if they never leave the box. It’s so hard to pass up good design! There are so many beautiful, elegant, whimsical, fun, well-designed options out there that it was really hard to narrow them down. That being said, here are some of my faves:
1. Best use of neon: Three Little Words
You know I’m a sucker for neon. How great are these cards? While they are modern and untraditional in their color palette and typeface, they truly capture the spirit and joy of the season. And bonus, they were designed by my college classmates Dana and Emily! Check out the rest of their collection, including a scratch and sniff option, on Etsy!
Understated is overrated. Kate Spade’s Fall 2011 campaign.

If I could be a clothing brand, I think I’d be Kate Spade. I love that the clothes and accessories have actual personality: witty, flirty and whimsical. The brand embraces the use of bold, vibrant colors, and understands that you can never have too many stripes, polka dots or bows! And I love that they’re not afraid to mix it all together! Fabsugar said it best: “In Kate Spade’s world, we’re all having breakfast at Tiffany’s with Andy Warhol and we’re never, ever too old or too cool for a good bow.”
The Fall 2011 collection, modeled by Bryce Dallas Howard, features high-impact pieces with bold pops of color, striking silhouettes and dramatic details. It’s retro, girly and technicolor. To quote Kate Spade: “Why blend in when you can stand out in the crowd?” My favorite piece in the collection is the Cherie coat. Hot pink, high collared, 3/4 sleeves, I love it. As in I want it.
And how great are the combos of hot pink, deep teal, stripes and zebra print??
