It’s been far too long since Matt Damon has graced this blog with his presence. Like two years too long. So with his new movie, The Monuments Men, coming out this weekend, I think it’s time we get another look at that handsome, smiling face of his. Is anyone looking forward to seeing The Monuments Men? I know I am! It’s based on the true story of a World War II platoon who were tasked by FDR to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves. I love that it’s a war movie about art. Totally into that! And it stars another fave hottie, George Clooney, who actually shared a post with Matt a few years ago.
Since I’ve already listed many of the reasons I adore Matt in my last post, all of which are still true, I’ll just add a few more things. And one fun fact.

Somehow Christmas is now six weeks behind us and Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away! In general, I’m not really that into V-Day as a holiday. But I do enjoy celebrating love. And eating my weight in chocolate and conversation hearts… So in honor of that, here is a gift guide filled with all thinks pink. And a little red. (But mostly pink.) Either way, lots of gift ideas for all the special girls in your life!

This post has been on my to-do list since December, when Pantone revealed their color of the year for 2014. So that just shows you how far behind I am on this blogging business. Kind of pathetic actually. (Like I’m not even sure that some of this stuff is still available, in which case, I apologize.) But I’m happy to get this post up on the last day of January – I think that still qualifies as the “new year,” right? So, here’s my belated introduction to Pantone’s Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid. I love purple, and I love pink, and this color is a perfect combination of the two. According to Pantone, “Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple—one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health.”
Assuming we’ll be seeing this color all over the place this year, from fashion and makeup to home decor, here are a few items that are first to embrace this modern, rich, pinky-purple. What do you think about Pantone’s choice for color of the year?

I’ve mentioned this before, but 1994 was a pivotal year in my life. It was the year of Dookie, Reality Bites and My So-Called Life. And it was the year of forming lifelong hottie-obsessions, like Billie Joe, Christian, Leo, and of course, one Jordan Catalano. It didn’t matter that he was basically illiterate. He could sing Ramones covers and was the hottest leaner on TV.
Fast-forward 20 years (TWENTY YEARS!!!), and I’m still obsessed with all of these guys. And maybe it’s because I’m also 20 years older, but they all still look the same to me. However, no one has
drunk chugged more from the fountain of youth than Jared Leto. He is just agelessly and exceptionally hot. And it would make sense that Jared would get nominated for an Oscar for playing a transgender character. I mean, he has to be the prettiest man in Hollywood. Right? It doesn’t matter if he has long hair or short, is bearded or clean-shaven, is skinny or ripped. His quirky, rock god status allows him to get away with guyliner and ombré hair, all of which just enhances his beauty. I know it might be emasculating to call a man beautiful, but he is. He’s just…pretty. Damn. Hot. With those soul-piercing blue eyes and that perfect smile. And according to this one interviewer (which I believe is the general perception of Jared), he is incredibly charming and is a “phenomenally gifted flirt.”

Can we just talk about the hotness that is Josh Holloway? As a devout Lost fan, I was really missing my weekly dose of Sawyer. So I’m thrilled that Josh has come back into my living room in his new series, Intelligence, as a more clean-cut, James-Bond-ish version of himself. Although, I have yet to actually watch the show since I’m still playing catch up on fall TV! But from what I’ve heard, it’s really good, so I’m excited for him. And for me. Seriously, Monday nights never looked so good! The man just oozes sex. That raspy voice. The laid back attitude. The messy hair. The perfect teeth and the dimples. Oh, and of course, THE BOD! There were some rumors swirling of Josh playing Aquaman in the Man of Steel sequel. Totally on board with that! No man looks hotter when wet. (As evident in the photos below.)

Editors note: Angie sent me this post months ago and I am just now getting it up. (I’m so sorry for the delay, Angie. You’ve been incredibly patient, a quality myself I do not posses.) Stay tuned for more posts from Angie, which I promise will be posted in a more timely fashion!
Hello, obsessors! So, I have been up to a lot of stuff reading since my last post, but one of the books really stood out – Faithful by Kelly Elliot. Faithful is the third book in the Wanted series, so I’m going to do three mini reviews to introduce you to all the books. (That is, if I can remember the details from when I read Wanted!)
Wanted is a lovely book, but it’s also a bit disturbing. I say that because Ellie, the main character, was verbally abused by her mother into thinking she would never be wanted (hence the name.) I believe her words were something like, “You will never be wanted by anyone…remember that Ellie darlin’, remember that…” As a result of the abuse, Ellie had a hard time letting go of her past. And when it came to relationships, Ellie would deny her feelings for fear of getting hurt.

I recently went on a totally random Colin Firth/Pride & Prejudice binge. It started with catching both Bridget Jones movies back to back on TV. Once the Colin Firth (and Hugh Grant) spark was ignited, I moved on to Love Actually. Then I rummaged through my DVD’s to find the 1995 BBC version of Pride & Prejudice, which then led to watching the 2005 version. (He’s no Colin Firth, but I do kind of love Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Darcy). Then I went back and read the book, which I haven’t done in years, and kind of made me want to start the binge all over again. The binge also left me wondering why I’ve never done a hottie post about Colin Firth. So here it is…

Do you guys shop at the Loft? Their clothes used to be a bit hit or miss for me, but over the past few years I’ve had a lot of luck and many of my fave wardrobe staples are from there. With their constant sales, both online and in store, it’s a great place to stock up on essentials. Plus I find a lot of their styles to be really flattering. If you do shop at Loft, you probably know that they’ve had a lounge line for a few years. Super comfortable and flattering clothes that are perfect for the weekends. And, if you’re a leggings hoarder like I am, you HAVE to try Loft’s leggings. I swear by them.
When doing some online shopping after the holidays, I noticed that Loft rebranded their lounge line. It’s now called Lou & Grey. The same casual styles, but now with new branding and what seems to be a slightly more cohesive collection. Forget the weekend. These textural, effortless pieces could easily become weekday essentials. And upon first glance, I’m obsessed with it all. I love the monochromatic color palette and even the Kristen-Stewart-esque models. Here are a few faves from the collection (which is basically everything):

I’m noticing a trend. I was thinking about how much I’ve been [unintentionally] neglecting the blog, with the first post of 2014 coming in on January 13th. But when I looked up last years Golden Globes recap, there was lots of talk about how the holiday hiatus was longer than expected, how my job has been crazy, etc. So, I’ll keep this simple. Blogging batteries are recharged. I have a lot of ideas for my little blog, and it’s time to start executing. Moving on…
Like last year, I don’t know why they have to put the Golden Globes up against the season premiere of Girls, series premiere of True Detective AND Downton Abbey. The DVR can only handle so much, so the GG’s were resigned to “watching” via online recaps. (That being said, who watched Girls and True Detective? Thoughts? How about this weeks Downton – are you into Mary’s new potential love interest?)
To sum up my thoughts: Tina and Amy were brills. Again. I mean, so many funny quotes. I’ll share a few faves below, but here is a good recap (w/GIFs!) I’m happy about the J.Law, Amy Adams, Robin Wright and Elizabeth Moss wins. Was really hoping Emma Thompson would win since I adored her in Saving Mr. Banks. THRILLED for Leo’s win (see below). And lots of good acceptance speeches (check out highlights with videos here).
The fashion was a bit all over the place, but here are a few other trends I spotted (for better or worse). Who’s your pick for best dressed? Fave moment of the night?
1. Art Deco Details
This was my favorite trend of the night and Margot Robbie is my pick for best dressed. She looks flawless in this Gucci sheath gown. Such a simple silhouette, but beautifully adorned with sparkly emerald details. And the shoes! Love. I’m also a huge fan of Lizzy Caplan’s Pucci dress (and Lizzy in general), which I felt went a bit under the radar. Elizabeth looks beautiful and this is one of the only dresses that makes me not hate the sheer trend. I’m also thrilled that she won for Top of the Lake AND that she flipped the bird on the mani cam. And, total shocker, Kate Beckinsale looks amazing. I also just realized that I’ve been spelling her last name wrong for years now!
