Girly Gift Guide: Mother’s Day.

Since I’m going to be on vacation during Mother’s Day shopping season, and will actually be seeing my mom the day I return to celebrate both my birthday and Mother’s Day, I had to plan her gift in advance. Which is highly unlike me. I’m a total procrastinator. (I mean, I leave Weds for vacay and have yet to pack a single thing. Yikes!) But luckily, since I planned her gift in advance, I also thought ahead about putting this post together!
I’ve always thought my mom and I share a special bond since I was born on Mother’s Day. I’m so lucky to have such a wonderful mom who now seems more like a best friend than my mother. Well, that’s not true. My friends don’t bake brownies and stock up on my favorite foods when I visit. And they don’t meet me halfway up the Jersey Turnpike for a doxie dropoff. But it’s true that my mom is also my best friend, and I would buy everything on this list for her if I could! Here are some of my fave finds for moms this year – hopefully there is something for any special mom in your life!
Train like an Angel.

There is nothing girly about going to the gym…except for maybe the cute workout gear. Sweating, grunting and panting in a room full of “eye candy” is what we have to endure to get a model-inspired body. But ladies, did you know that Victoria’s Secret has workout videos to keep us looking sexy, while getting the flat toned stomach and rock hard butt we all want? They have two different series: Train Like an Angel and Sexiest Workout, both available to their Facebook fans. These videos give step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow – I watched it once and was able to do the full workout at the gym! They are also perfect to do at home. Each video only takes a few minutes and you can go at your own pace and rest when you need to. By the end of the workout I guarantee your body will feel tighter! These workouts are perfect for girly toning without getting those manly-muscles or having to use those germ-and muscle-head-packed machines. Yuck!
Also, check out some of this super-cute workout gear from the VSX Sport line! I think a pink and white striped sports bra is a necessity while working out to these videos!

Happy Friday! I’m blogging from sunny (but not super warm) Las Vegas today! We booked a trip for what was supposed to be the last night of Green Day’s tour, but that show got postponed. But since I’ve never been here before, I’m busy exploring massive Sephora’s and getting my glitter on! (And avoiding the blizzard back home!)
But I thought ahead and prepared a post for today! This Valentine’s Day gift guide was supposed to be a series of posts, but instead it’s just one huge spectrum of red and pink gifts! I’ve mentioned my obsession with the fashion-lifestyle brand IRUNLIKEAGIRL before on the blog. My friend Kelly is not only a runner and lover of peanut butter and cupcakes, but she is also the brand ambassador and she is working hard to build the business. She recently started a blog about a runner girl’s go at her dream life: building the brand IRUNLIKEAGIRL, breaking for cupcakes. Kelly is a way more of a committed runner than I am, but we do share a love of cupcakes. I’ll run for cupcakes – they are the ultimate motivator!
I totally support her blog and her dedication to the brand, so I was thrilled when she asked to interview me. She is one of the hardest workers I know and that she will achieve any goal she sets her mind to, including her dream life, cause she’s that type of girl. Happy Almost New Year! This is the 255th (and last) post of 2012! I know I’ve said this a lot over the past few months, but seriously, where did the year go? 2012 was a great year for me – personally, professionally and with the blog. My husband and I celebrated our five-year wedding anniversary with an amazing trip to France. I was lucky enough to start a new job which I love. And I devoted most of my free time to the blog (although I should probably resolve to spend some of my free time next year in the gym), which resulted in my readership more than doubling. I am so grateful to all my readers and I have a lot planned for 2013, so I hope you stay tuned! I hope everyone has a fabulous New Year, surrounded by loved ones and filled with sparkles, champagne and realistic resolutions! Cheers, much love and see ya in 2013!
