Girly Gift Guide: Cheers!

First, I just wanted to wish a very happy birthday to my cousin who is more like the sister I never had, Jill! Show her some love and check out her blog, Jillian’s Kitchen. Today is also my parent’s anniversary and the anniversary of our engagement, so a celebratory day all around! And what better way to celebrate than with a toast! Check out the next page of the Holiday 2012 Girly Gift Guide, which is a collection devoted to one of my fave things: cocktails! You can see the full guide below the collection, or by clicking here. Happy girly gifting!
Girly Gift Guide: Domestic Goddess.

OK, I lied, this might be my favorite page of Holiday 2012 Girly Gift Guide. I know appliances aren’t the most romantic gifts, but my KitchenAid and my Nespresso are like two of my most favorite things. Ever. And by the way, that IKEA cart is like the only product they don’t seem to have in stock at my local store. What’s up with that? You can see the full guide below the collection, or by clicking here. Happy girly gifting!
Cute and creative office supplies from Top Hat, for Madewell.

I mentioned this before in my Poppin post, but when I was in school, shopping for supplies was my FAVORITE! And even though my back to school days are over, I still love office supplies. Especially cute and girly ones! So while looking through my Madewell catalog this weekend, I was thrilled to come across a curated collection of creative desk accessories from Top Hat.
Top Hat is a gift shop in SoHo that sells goods from around the world (found by owner Nina Allen), and is the retail counterpart to the online wholesale company, Sweet Bella. Here are some of my faves from their collection for Madewell:

Square + Dot = Total Flor Obsession.

I don’t know why it took me so long to write a post about my obsession with Flor. I’ve been drooling over their catalog for years now. Due to having two stubborn doxies (one of whom is a total princess and pees wherever she wants when overly excited, which is often), we don’t have a lot of rugs in our house. And the one time we splurged on a nice wool rug, it was basically ruined after a couple of years. So the idea of using Flor carpet tiles has always appealed to me. If one square gets totally destroyed, you can replace it without having to replace the entire rug. Cost effective and practical. And not to mention, TOTALLY FUN.
On Cloud Nine with Kate Spade bedding (and bath) collections.

So I’ve had “Kate Spade bath” on my blog post to-do list for months. Then I got an email introducing their bedding collection and meant to post about that before I left on vacation. Obviously neither happened, so again I’m playing catch up and combining them into one post! As you know, I’m a huge fan of Kate Spade EVERYTHING, and a home collection is no exception. Like they said in their email, you can dress up your bed with their mix-and-matchable duvets, sheets, shams and spreads. FUN!
There are three major collections, and you can combine pieces from each to create your own unique (and girly) look. Now I just need three bedrooms to decorate! Actually, my guest bedroom is still a random combination of all our old crap that is just used to fill the space, so maybe it’s time to rethink the decor. I love the styling of the rooms with pops of pinks and oranges (I NEED that pink rug), as well as the strategically placed Kate Spade handbags and shoes. Who says fashion accessories can’t be home accessories??
C. Wonder at home.

Did anyone see the last episode of The Pitch with C. Wonder as the client? Does Chris Burch seem like a hard man to please or what? I visited the SoHo flagship store a few months ago (complete with Kelly Ripa sighting) and meant to do a post about the store then, but forgot about it until I saw the show. And while they have tons of fab clothes and accessories to share (and overall store awesomeness), I really love their home decor. They sell everything from pillows and table settings, to artwork and candles, to pet accessories and techy gadgets, all with a unique, eclectic and feminine aesthetic.
C. Wonder really knows how to bring the whimsy. And the pattern. And the elephants. Seriously so much elephant goodness. I mean how am I supposed to resist an elephant plate with pink ikat border? Total girly overload!! It was really hard to decide what to feature, but here are some a lot of my faves. (Sorry, had a hard time editing this one!)
Obsessed with stripes. In general, and now at home. Thanks West Elm.

You know I’m obsessed with stripes. I’m also obsessed with West Elm, although it might not be totally apparent on the blog. (Although I did just do a post about their partnership with Claudia Pearson.) Stripes are everywhere in fashion and home decor, but West Elm was kind enough to send me an email about all their Summer Stripes items. I’m not gonna lie, I got a little giddy. It doesn’t take much. Their striped items are modern and colorful, and range from curtains and furniture, to bedding, bath accessories and home decor. If only I had unlimited funds…because now I pretty much want it all!
Anyone else as obsessed with stripes as I am? I’m definitely on a stripes kick lately, especially with clothes. Do you have a favorite item below? I love the mugs and bowls, especially since they have the polka dot insides! Two birds, one bowl!
Claudia Pearson for West Elm. (Well, Claudia Pearson in general!)

I’ve been wanting to do a post featuring Claudia Pearson’s work for a while now, ever since I started following her Etsy shop! And I knew I had to do this post when I saw her latest collaboration with West Elm. Being a doxie owner (see below), I am in LOVE with the adorable dachshund plates. Perfect for serving actual hot dogs! She also created tea towels for the collection and you can read about the collaboration on Front & Main.
I just love the whimsical (and girly) nature of her illustrations. And you can buy her adorable artwork as prints, or as tea towels (which I own, thank you Brooklyn Flea), greeting cards, mugs, books, or for the young at heart, as a coloring book! (Who doesn’t still love to color??) In addition, Claudia’s work has been published New York Times, The New Yorker, Elle, and Travel & Leisure.
