What we want to watch this fall: New Girl

Ashley: I’m pretty psyched for Zooey Deschanel’s new comedy, New Girl. I want to hate her cause she’s so adorable and funny, and she can sing, and she rocks the perfect bangs that everyone wants but no one can pull off but her, but I can’t help but be charmed by her. Even though I kinda did hate her character in 500 Days of Summer. How could she screw with Joseph Gordon-Levitt like that?

New Girl Zooey Deschanel

Sorry, back on track. This show does look cute. It’s about a girl suffering from a breakup who moves in with three guys, who of course don’t really know how to deal with her emotional mental state, but they choose her cause she has friends who are models.

Sara: I am not a huge fan of hers in general. I don’t know why, BUT I am intrigued by this show. She looks so cute, and her relationship with her new roomies seems so sweet and sincere in the previews. Plus I need a quirky comedy to add to my TV mix!

Ashley: Well, the phrase used by Fox to describe her character Jess is “Simply Adorkable.” Ha, that’s cute! Jess looks like a fun character to play: nerdy, awkward, randomly sings and makes up her own theme songs, but she’s completely comfortable with herself. And to your point about her relationship with the roomies, Fox says: “As their relationships progress, these five [Jess, 3 roomies and her model friend] realize they need each other more than they thought they would and end up forming a charmingly dysfunctional – or strangely functional – family.”
